About the Role
We are seeking a software engineering intern to help address critical food problems in the agricultural industry by developing innovative technology to better our planet. This person will work on projects related to sustainable farming automation including localization, navigation, and integration of new features and technologies.
The ideal candidate has a positive attitude, excellent communication skills, enjoys learning and receiving feedback, is comfortable working independently, and is willing to try (and sometimes fail) new methods untraditional to the mainstream farming industry.
Role Responsibilities
Improving navigation and localization interfaces on mobile robotics systems
Bringing new features from simulation to field testing
Automating calibration procedures for sensors on modular systems
Extensive in-field system testing
Preferred Experience
Student pursuing a degree in computer science, computer engineering or similar.
Experience with ROS2, Nav2, Gazebo, Zenoh, Raspberry Pi
Interfacing with embedded systems
Contributing to and utilizing open source software
History of hands-on robotics projects
A proactive mindset, problem-solving abilities, and a passion for innovation.
Knowledge of or desire to learn sustainable farming practices.
